Upton Bass has been providing affordable and excellent basses since 1999. As a bass player himself, founder Gary Upton felt it was important to provide access to fit all budgets. His goal was to place into the hands of his customers the finest instruments possible to fit those budgets. A few years later he and several others joined forces and soon the “Upton Setup” became known across the working bassist scene for its comfort and responsiveness. Upton and his team became a formidable business in the bass building and restoration industry.

In addition to maintaining, updating and “hot-rodding,” Upton Bass began importing bass shells from Europe and finishing them in their shop. Their attention to detail and collaboration eventually lead to the original “Upton” Bass design. Since 2006, Upton Basses has been manufacturing Originally designed basses in house. However, this doesn’t mean you can only get their original products. They are still dedicated to providing Basses to fit all budgets.
